Positive Grid BIAS FX
Positive Grid has just released BIAS FX for iPad and soon for desktop…I must confess that I’m salivating over both! I am currently using BIAS Desktop, BIAS for iOS, and JamUp Pro XT and each is a crucial tool in my sonic landscape.
BIAS Desktop integrates seamlessly into my DAW (Logic Pro X) , and the tone matching has amazing fidelity. Live I’ve been using BIAS for iOS to create custom modeled amps, which I import into JamUp Pro XT running on an iPad2. My current signal path is as follows:
Guitar > Apogee One > iPad running JamUp Pro XT > Apogee One > D.I. > s1: power amp w/cab, s2 & 3: P.A.
Note: I use a bluetooth midi pedal (with expression pedal) to control patch changes on the iPad.
This allows me to eliminate mics on stage, consistently deliver a high quality signal to the board, and use a guitar voiced reference monitor (which looks cool too, always important). I’m very happy with rig and receive complements on my tone from the cadre of my fellow guitarists and musicians.
If you haven’t tried Positive Grid’s wares yet, I’d encourage to check it out.
